Dead Show/podcast for 01/26/07

This week I get to satisfy two different kinds of requests... I had a few nice folks who wanted to hear more from last week's podcast.. 4/14/72, so we're going to really get into the heart of the show tonight. I've also had a few folks telling me that they would really like it if the deadpod were longer each week.. well I'm going to try it out tonight and see how it goes.. let me know if you like it!

This week's show is truly a classic, check out the wild Pigpen raps in Caution...

Thanks a whole lot for lending an ear to both those requests. I love the "Dark Star" and, as often is the case with the Dead, more is actually more.

  3. These are great podcasts. As a long time DeadHead i love the variety and choice of shows. The longer format is a GREAT idea. It may allow full sets and if not you just cannot go wrong with more Dead!!

    THANKS!!

  4. Prof, I just want to say how much I enjoy your weekly dead podcast. I am here in Israel (for a year)in my first year of Rabbinical school studies and I love walk the streets of Jerusalem listening to a new dead show everyweek. I was heartbroken to return to Cleveland (my hometown) after OSU (1999) to find out the Grateful Dead hour had been cancelled, your show goes above and beyond it and now I can take it everywhere I go. I love the long format! Thanks again and Shalom from the Holy Land! :)

Professor, the longer deadpod is a great idea. I hope you keep the new format. Going to see Dark Star Orch tonight in Chicago. It's not the same, but about as close as you can get!

Wow. This is one wonderful show. I really like the extended time. I sure hope you can continue with that.

I get the show as a podcast and I can't imagine a more wonderful way to have a big bunch of Dead to listen too whenever I feel like it.

    Thanks so much.

100% yes to the longer format. It's especially good for when the band is feeling expansive.

The way I figure it, the more music the better. It's kind of like acid in that way.
