ReplyDeletethanks..
i was wondering who wrote and is singing "i will take you home"
ReplyDeleteThanks
I'm still downloading, but I'm assuming it is Brent Mydland (keyboardist) singing 'I will take you home'. Beautiful song... never paid much attention to it till recently. I love that about the Dead... you can never stop discovering!
ReplyDeleteLyrics by John Perry Barlow - music by Brent Mydland - beautiful tune isn't it?
ReplyDelete-the professor
yeah. i really liked it. i've never heard it before.
ReplyDeleteI love this period of the dead. How about Foxboro '90, great show- crazy fingers. I'd love to here some podcast- deano
ReplyDeleteProfessor (Oh Great One):
ReplyDeleteLove your blog and the podcasts. One issue though - the podcasts from 2006 going back in time seem to be Itunes incompatible. Maybe I'm missing something, but everytime I download one when I go to play nothing happens. And by the way, how can I support your Garcian efforts? Thanks so much
Well first of all are you sure you've downloaded those old one? They're quite hard to get - back in those days I didn't have a great site to store them on like I do now - so they still live here on my home computer and can only get served out to 2 people at a time and very slowly at that.
ReplyDeleteHowever if you can save them and see that they've been downloaded in your directory - then they should play just fine..
I always accept donations - just go to the home page and click on the donation now tab on the right hand side of the page - glad you enjoy the shows...
the professor
I think I downloaded them!!!
ReplyDeleteThe 2006 shows show up as "movie clips" in "My Music" file, which is another way of saying they're in the MPEG4 format. I'll have a techie friend of mine (I'm a former history major!!!) tell me how to convert.
Donation is made - consider it done and keep it up. And btw - I know I'm a rare dog on these pages, but I absolutely love the 1969-1970 acoustic/electric show.
Thanks again for this blog. It truly is tremendous.
Looking forward to tomorrow night! The Dead Show is like Christmas every week except that mom doesn't get drunk and my aunt and uncle aren't yelling at each other. So, it's really nothing like Christmas every week. Holy crap! It's better than Christmas.
ReplyDeleteA wonder. Thanks for the Cal Expo, and for the Valentine's show. Much obliged, K from Sacto
