Dead Show/podcast for 1/9/09
Hello Friends!
This week we have the pleasure of listening to a newly released version of a classic 1970 Dead show - this one is from the Euphoria Ballroom, San Rafael CA, 7/14/70..
We'll listen to the first set this week, then the 'electric' set next week....
note that the last two songs in this set, New Speedway Boogie and Cumberland Blues, supposedly feature David Crosby on 12 string.. also note that the first song, Don't Ease Me In, is from an audience source with degraded sound.. sorry, but felt it was best to leave it in..

what a gift, what a gift! love the acoustic dead. That was Jerry's roots and you can always tell he had a lot of fun doing these shows.
ReplyDeletelove the frustrated conversations/comments with Bear... what a score to have all the banter and songs!
ReplyDeleteI love this and all of the acoustic Dead shows. Most of the acoustic shows that I've heard have pretty the same songs however (Dire Wolf, Friend of the Devil, Must of Been the Roses, etc.) which are all great, but are you aware of any acoustic shows where they play standards like Sugaree, Franklin's, China Cat, etc.? If you do, can you play some? Thanks...love the show.
ReplyDeleteProfessor, your doing a great job
ReplyDeleteI love this show. Anyone know where I can download it in track form?
ReplyDeleteThanks for mixing in acoustic sets on a regular basis. I love them so much!
