For whatever reason I felt like bringing some Jerry Band out this week - this is an especially lovely recording of a fine show from 1988.. we'll listen to the first set this week, which includes a great 'Cats Under the Stars', and one of my favorites, a really soulful 'And It Stoned Me'..

This is without question the best JGB set I've heard. Simultaneously energetic and soulful. Having top-notch back-up singers adds a true richness to the sound, and the playing and singing are fantastic all the way around. Not to take anything away from everyone else, but I loved Melvin Seals' contribution. Amazing sound quality. Easily the best Cats Under The Stars I've heard, and it prompted me to run out online and start shopping for a onesie for my son with the Cats logo, but with a Kitten instead. =)
