Happy New Year!
I hope you have a wonderful New Year!!!
Today I decided that I would finish playing the excellent 2nd set from 3/24/86 that I started 2 weeks ago, rather than bring you a New Year's Eve show - in my opinion this is a fine second set that I'm sure you will enjoy!! It contains the very last Lost Sailor->Saint of Circumstance, and an outstanding Morning Dew - I know, there's no Sugar Magnolia, but the Midnight Hour Encore is a keeper!

Thanks for picking us up this week and for your kind support during 2009 - I'm hoping we can keep on rolling in 2010!
Happy New Year to the Professor and all DeadPod listeners. May your 2010 be filled with good health and more Grateful Dead music. Be Well
ReplyDeleteProfessor,
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for a 2009 full of awesome podcasts.
Suggestion - I've noticed you sometimes pop your P's and other 'plosives in your recorded intros and outros. Try using a pop filter in front of your microphone. You can buy one, or make your own http://www.hometracked.com/2006/05/28/homemade-pop-filters/.
Thanks again and keep up the great work!
Thanks for bringing this great show to my ears. I am seeking it out now.
ReplyDeleteAnother great set! Thanks for choosing this show!
ReplyDeleteDuring the encore, I cannot help but think that Bobby, when he was suggesting to the crowd that they turn to each other and say, "How do you do?", was making reference to a show in 1970 (featured in the Deadpod of 06-07-13) in which Pigpen, during Lovelight, encouraged members of the audience to...how shall I say this?...hook up with one another. Bobby said something to the effect of "A friend of mine once said...". It just so happens that I was going through these older DP's from 2010 when the 06-07-13 show aired, so I naturally connected the two. Perhaps it's pure coincidence, and I'm reading too much into it; or, perhaps Bobby is simply referring to something else of which I am not aware. Thoughts, anyone?
