Dead Show/podcast for 5/18/2012

This week we get to listen to set 2 of the Dead's show in the Vegas desert from May 16th, 1993. All in all, a pretty darn good set, the Help->Slip->Frank features some nice improvisations by Vince. I'm a fan of Terrapin and this one does not disappoint, Jerry is in it.. The Other One and Wharf Rat are first rate, and the Throwin Stones goes into a Lovelight instead of the increasingly usual Not Fade Away.. Brokedown is always a nice way to leave a show..

Hope you enjoy this one my friends..

Man.....I was there that day. The Silver Bowl was absolutely electric!

Everybody was having a blast! We actually got a little desert weather briefly that day unless I'm crazy, possible. I wanna say the Looks Like Rain played into it. I remember there was a lightning scare.

Back on the strip at night there was a huge drum circle right in front of the circus circus for hours w/ no bs from the cops. 75 cent Heinekens inside all night.

    Tastes great, Lesh filling...................

    Thanks for this one man!

  5. Was this the night that the heavens opened up and poured lighting and rain down during drums/space and then cleared immediately as they pulled out into a song, revealing a rainbow for the finish of the second set?

If I'm not mistaken, Jerry was playing quite well...somewhere way in the back, in support of The Vince Welnick Experience. I hate to be a Negative Ned, but Vince is way too prominent in this mix.
