Dead Show/podcast for 02/05/2010

This week I'm going to bring you the entire second set from this legendary show that took place on December 6th, 1973 in Cleveland Ohio. My first show, I had no idea what I was witnessing - but of course I'm sure it permanently altered my DNA :) This second set features one of the greatest versions of 'Here Come Sunshine' and of course, a legendary Dark Star. The length of this Deadpod is substantially longer than usual, but the music is so substantial that I know its well worth the investment ...

Grateful Dead - December 6, 1973
Public Hall - Cleveland, OH

set 2:
Ramble On Rose
Me And My Uncle
Here Comes Sunshine
Big River
Dark Star ->
Eyes Of The World ->
Stella Blue
Sugar Magnolia

I hope that you find this music as magical as I do, I think it represents the band at one of the apexes of their history....

    Thank you again.

    Professor - It's gotta be more than coincidence this was your first show. An absolutely awesome show that must have changed your musical life, and continues to today as you share the music almost 40 years later! Thanks!

    This show has the sickest Ramble on Rose I've ever heard. Thank you Professor!

  6. I agree that the December 1973 shows were "apex material". I was fortunate to have my DNA altered four nights earlier in Boston (12/2/73) and the positive effects are still playing out today. Thanks for sharing this show from that great run!

    Excellent show. Not a bluesy enough Me and My Uncle, but other than that a divine set.

    Professor:

    Any idea where I can grab a copy of the art that accompanies the 2/5/10 show?

    Such a great set, through and through...to highlight this song or that one is an injustice to the rest. Having said that...a 47-minute Dark Star??? Wow!!! Your first show was a keeper, Professor!
