This week we'll hear set 2 of the Grateful Dead's performance on May 9th, 1987 at the Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey California. While I would agree that its not the most unique setlist, its still quite enjoyable - I'm especially fond of the He's Gone->Drumz->Space segment of this one, as well as the Iko encore..

ReplyDeleteFantastic show, both sets! Everyone played and sang so well. Having heard a lot of earlier Dead recently, this was a very interesting contrast. From the sound of Jerry's guitar to the way that old favorites were served up in a slightly different fashion, it was simply a lot of fun. Even the Space (which is normally my least favorite part of any show) was wonderful (thanks to a heavy dose of Jerry).
