Every so often I get the craving for some 'pure' Jerry - and this is one of those weeks - this week I'm bringing you one of the lesser known of the bands Jerry played with - Reconstruction.
Here's the lineup for this show:
Jerry Garcia guitar, vocals
John Kahn bass
Merl Saunders keyboards
Ed Neumeister trombone
Ron Stallings saxophone, vocals
Gaylord Birch drums
It's possible that this isn't everyone's cup of tea - but while its not the most well-known Garcia, I think you'll enjoy it...
Reconstruction - July 7, 1979
Keystone - Palo Alto, CA
- Set 1 -
Tellin' My Friends
That's What Love Will Make You Do
Do I Move You
Another Star
Struggling Man
Make It Better

please, please, please!!!! second set. I've been craving some Reconstruction. I have only a skeevy tape I recorded in 1979.
This is my cup of tea! What a gem! Great to hear those jazz influences that percolate through the Dead in full array here with Jerry's ensemble.

Wonderful music. This is the first Reconstruction I've heard. Love the jazzy jams. More please
This is top notch...more please?
More "Pure Jerry" please!
I love this. I have a few recordings of Reconstruction, the one thing I notice about these recordings is that the sound quality is AMAZING. However I do not have any full Reconstruction shows on tape. It would be GREAT to have one of these shows released "officially" in the Pure Jerry series. What a gem. THANK YOU for the upload. This is definitely i-pod worthy.
More tea, please! Man cannot live by coffee alone. Any fan of good music in general should appreciate this. Thanks for this gem, Professor!
