Dead Show podcast for 7/27/12

Wow.. here we are once again on the verge of Jerry's Birthday.. old Jer would have been 70 this year..... makes me feel a little more aware of my own mortality..
While every Deadpod is a celebration of Jerry, I thought I'd put together something joyful for this week - this is a two-parter.. the first, a wonderful set of Jerry Garcia Band music performed on June 16th, 1982 at the Music Mountain in S. Fallsburg PA. This happened to be the last time that Bill Kreutzmann played drums in the Jerry Band, which in itself makes this an interesting show. I think this is a *rockin'* set that is sure to get you shaking those bones..

Jerry Garcia Band

1st Set
1- How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You
2- Catfish John
3- That's What Love Will Make You Do

6- Deal

Jerry Garcia Band

Jerry Garcia - guitar, vocals
John Kahn - bass
Melvin Seals - keyboards
Jimmy Warren -

Bill Kreutzmann - drums
Essra Mohawk - backing vocals
Liz Stires - backing vocals

Unfortunately we only have set 1 of this performance, which led me on a quest for even more wonderful Jerry music.. I came up with this little gem of Primal Dead..

Grateful Dead - January 23, 1968
Eagles Auditorium - Seattle, WA

That's It For The Other One ->
Clementine ->
New Potato Caboose ->
Born Cross-Eyed ->
Spanish Jam//

Man I just wish that Spanish Jam was complete!! Whew! This is smoking hot Good Old Grateful Dead.. no better way to remember the man on this anniversary of his coming on the planet ;)

Professor - great selection and particularly timely since we just saw Billy K & 7 Walkers last night. Billy's still awesome!

Though I consider the Allman Brothers to be the best jam band ever, its really hard to hate the dead. Its always great to have a front man who is both the lead singer and lead guitarist (Jerry).Great post keep up the hard work. Check these out IStillGotMyGuitar.
