This week's Deadpod features a massive show from the summer of 1972. This show is so big that I'm splitting it into three Deadpods - this week we will hear most of set 1..
This features some fine renditions of some of their standards - highlights include a great Sugaree, a mid--set China>Rider and a raucous Tennesee Jed.
This one goes out to Steve - happy Birthday!

Wow Professor! What an awesome enormous (and only partial) first set. What a band! On an average Wednesday evening, in a beautiful historic old theatre in Portland, about 2700 lucky folks got to hear some stellar music. Great tunes played by a band totally on top of their game. And thanks to you - here we are more than 50 years later- lucky to listen in. '72 sure was a sweet spot for the Dead. THANK YOU! Never heard this show before and really digging it.
