Dead Show/podcast for 4/10/09

This week we will hear the second set from this first appearance of Vince Welnick with the Grateful Dead, 9/7/90, at the Richfield Coliseum in Richfield Ohio.. This set features some finely played jams - I'm particulary fond of the Crazy Fingers->Playin' In the Band, and I've always loved the Black Peter..
I hope you enjoy this fine example of 'later day' Dead ...

A wonderful set. I feel compelled to offer copious kudos to Mr. Welnick for making such an able debut with the band. In the interest of full disclosure, I have been known to be quite critical of Vince's playing at times. But, I've always wanted to like him, and over time I've discovered more and more shows like this one that have made that endeavor easier and easier. So, I know it's 23+ years after the fact, but I would like to say, "Welcome to the band, Vince!!!"
