This week we have a fabulous Jerry Garcia/Merl Saunders show from 1974 - this comes to us from the late Jerry Moore, long time taper and tape collector, and I could think of no more fitting way to remember the 'days between' than to bring you some of this fine, fine Jerry ...
I really love listening to Jerry during this period.. truly one of the highlights of an extraordinary life..

Prof - What a great transition after the last 3 AWESOME podcasts. I saw Jerry perform in the early 80s at the Palace in Albany - a grand old theatre. Simply CANNOT get enough of the early Jerry/Merle days. Thanks!
I second that first comment: love these JG/MS shows! Some great jamming in there. I enjoy most shows that feature horns and other instruments that were atypical to Dead shows. For example, the sax playing here adds a richness to the songs that I really appreciate. Listening to this prompted me to then listen to an old Ratdog show that I saw in 2009, and I have to say that Franklin's Tower played with a sax is something special! Thanks for this, Professor!
