Dead Show/podcast for 8/28/09

This week we have the entire second set of the Dead's wonderful performance at the Orlando Arena on April 7th, 1991. A splendid example of Garcia and Hornsby, this set opens with a splendid Crazy Fingers into an always enjoyable Playin'>Uncle John's>Playin' sandwich... I especially enjoy the jamming in the Playin' reprise, which goes into a very enjoyable drumz>space segment.

The set closes with a wonderful Hornsby presence on the 'Baby Blue' encore..

Thanks so much for all you do! Love the Hornsby shows, early 90's almost on par with the early Brent shows. I emailed you a few weeks back for an older Deadpod and was hoping to buy a bumper sticker. Love to hear a Ride Mighty High sometime again. Thanks

Another wonderful set. Drums was indeed spectacular!

I've always been fascinated by the fact that the boys were often not on the same page when it came to the lyrics to UJB...it's like everyone was always waiting for someone else to take the lead. Would it be "playing to the tide," or "by the riverside?" I always smile when they sort of mumble their way through the first half of the lyric; and I smile even wider when they nail it!
