This week we'll get to hear the rest of the second set from April 4th, 1971 at the Manhattan Center in New York, New York. Personally, I can't get enough of this early Dead - its a real treat to hear Pigpen on Hard To Handle, as well as his organ throughout. The ending combo of Goin' Down The Road>Saint Stephen>Not Fade Away>Uncle John's Band is quite a tasty treat as well...

Thanks for the early dead professor, there had been a lot of 80's for a while, but either way I'm still grateful. One of my two favorite years 1971 and 1970. Looking forward to phil and friends next week at summerfest in milwaukee. Keep it coming.
Prof - This is really one of the best podcasts I can remember. Great sound, great jamming. Pig. Thank you!
Not about this show, but did anyone watch the Obama/Clinton rally? If you look in the very back row, there is a guy to the left with a cap on who is wearing a SYF shirt! Could not find a crystal clear photo but if you go here - http://news.yahoo.com/nphotos/slideshow/photo//080628/photos_ts/2008_06_27t134908_450x285_us_usa_politics/
you will see it. We are everywhere!
This is great stuff - you make my music come to life - Going Down the Road is a out of body experience for me!
