Dead Show/podcast for10/26/07

This week we continue with this marvelous show from May 25th, 1972 in London.
We get the last two songs of the first set - including a great Brokedown Palace, then we get what exists of the second set. I'm a sucker for a great Pigpen tune and Chinatown Shuffle sure sounds good to me... Lucky for all of us there's a fabulous Uncle John's->Wharf Rat->Dark Star that survived in tact..

I also wanted to thank everyone once again who contributed to the fall pledge drive.. You folks are SO great! thanks so much!

Grateful Dead Strand Lyceum London, England
Date 5/25/72 - Thursday
from set one: Brokedown Palace ; Casey Jones
Two Me And My Uncle ; Big Railroad Blues [3:25] ; Chinatown Shuffle [2:37] ; Ramble On Rose [6:16] ; Uncle John's Band [8:00] > Jam [1:50] > Wharf Rat [9:#45] > Dark Star [29:#59] > Sugar Magnolia [7:33]

This is just a stunning show. Europe '72 is really without equal--these shows cannot be overvalued. Thank you, as always.

Any chance of hearing some mid-70's Dead, perhaps '76, in an upcoming podcast? It's been a long time since we've heard anything from that underrepresented year.

Professor - Another awesome show, a great selection. Really enjoyed the 5/25/72 - perhaps 5/25 was a special date (there's a great 5/25/77 from Virginia).

I have a request: is there any chance you could play the 12/5/71 Felt Forum show - its wonderful with a unique "Muddy Water" in the 1st set (only time played)?
Thanks for all the wonderful music!

Professor – A great show, I really dig Ramble on Rose and Uncle John’s band but it’s all good.
Peace,
Dan

Just awesome. i was at those UK gigs in 72 missed the Lyceum but went to all the others. Shame the Playing in the Band gets cut just as it peaks.

It was the start of a 35 year love affair that is still going strong.

Thank you so much for these shows.

Now a big request, how about the 6 hour monster at the end of the 72 tour from Bickershaw?
