This week's Deadpod features a real treasure - this one again from Charlie Miller - in fact this recording from Mr. Miller's collection was given the tracking SHNID of 100000 from etree.org in honor of his efforts in preserving and disseminating the wonderful recorded legacy of the Grateful Dead.. This show was never before available in such a complete representation and it *is* a beauty.. from the famous 'Academy of Music' shows in NYC back in 1972...

Professor,

Just can't help but grin when I hear your cat in the background during the intro to almost every podcast. That's awesome. What's his/her name?

Dear Professor, Thanks for all your hard work! My first Dead Show was Hampton, VA c. 1980 just after "Go To Heaven" was released. My friends and me hooked school and drove from Frederick, MD to Hampton and where still able to buy tickets at the box office. Man those where the Days! My love grew for the Dead and Hampton, VA was always one of my favorite venues!I know you can't play all the request you get; however, one of my favorite shows was from Hampton, VA March 26, 1988! The first set had an awesome Hell in a bucket, peggy-o and Stuck in Mobile as well as a terrible attempt at Marley's stir it up. Sure would love to hear this show again! Thanks so much!

What a fabulous show, and high-quality recording! Everyone was singing and playing so well. So much could be said about any and every song, but I particularly enjoyed the somewhat "country-fied" BTW; hearing Pig on Chinatown Shuffle (a tune I haven't heard many times); the pre-Donna duet in LLR; and the sped-up TN Jed. Great stuff!
